Yesterday we visited the village in Ngugulo again. We got to stay in a nicer hotel in Ngugulo than we have been in Kireka and I finally got to take a warm shower...praise God! I really enjoyed our time I'm the village except all the bites I found on myself after returning. I'm literally covered in them! Both days we went looking for monkies but there was no luck in finding any. We thought we seen some in the trees but it was only some really cool birds with long tails....I was yet again disappointed. We also visited Jarred and His family again which was nice, I think for him and his family. He isn't getting the care that he needs which is very sad but we are definitely believing in a miracle! I have always trusted God in every area of my life and I'll continue to do that even with this. I'm not sure why Jarred is unhealthy or why he doesn't get the treatment he deserves but I know God loves him and I know that those two days my team and I had the chance to love him as well. Once we returned from spending some time with Jarred we met with some of the women of the church. One of the biggest problems they seem to face here is the men. The men literally don't have to care for the women nor do they have to help with the children so it puts a big burden on the women. So we have been searching for ideas and ways we can help them! We have a few ideas in mind but we shall see what happens in the future. At the end of the day we got to pray for the people in Ngugulo which is also a great time because we are there to pour into people's lives and I really feel like I'm being used. Jordan and I got to pray for two young boys and what they wanted prayer for really stood out to me, one asked for power and the other asked for knowledge. Normally children don't ask for these things when it comes to prayer but they were passionate and knew what they wanted from they Lord. We also got to pray over a lot of people seeking healing, there are a lot of sick people here because they can't afford to go to the doctor. Most children you meet have colds but any income the parents have they need for food.
Lets talk about today. Well it was suppose to be our "off" day but things are constantly changing and being added to the schedule. Some got up this morning for a long meeting about future Kuandaa stuff then after that we met up with Dewey's friend Stacey and her husband. Stacey and her husband have been living here for almost a year now and they head back home in about a month. I can't go into a lot of detail about what we did today because it's like top secret government stuff. But we first had lunch with them at this cute cafe place called prunes and they had really good food and then we headed to see what it is they do. So we visited a facility where children live who have been involved in bad things, pretty much like a juvenile detention center. But these kids haven't all committed bad crimes, some of them are very petty. But we didn't get to stay long today, we got to introduce ourselves and talk for a minute but that's about it. Very heartbreaking what a lot of these children here in Uganda are dealing with. After that we exchanged money, headed home, and rested. It seems on our rest days I'm never really rested so I can't wait to really have a chance to rest. I love being here and the people here are amazing but I'm really starting to miss my family and friends. Being in a new place is easy but being surrounded by all new people is very challenging. It's all part of the adventure though! Hope everyone is doing great! Sending lots of love from Uganda.
Funniest dude you'll ever meet!
And this is his daughter. :)
Loving the children while pastoral teaching is going on!
The children taught us a really fun game in Ngugulo. They are a blast!
Absolutely melts your heart!
So on our way home we found a chicken in the back of our van it totally scared us! I guess our driver had bought it and didn't feel the need to tell us he put it there. Oh Africa.
😘
